ColdBox Community Space open for self-registration

Community , ForgeBox , News No Comments »
Last night I opened the ColdBox community space for open registration.  This means that you have to self-register with assembla and join the space.  This way, no waiting on us to start working, just do it!  Then just link your projects up in ForgeBox and start growing this wonderful community.

Welcome to ForgeBox!

ForgeBox , News , Releases 1 Comment »
Welcome to ForgeBoxForgeBox is our new project completely online that will serve the ColdBox community.  ForgeBox is a repository for code entries that spawn from anything ColdBox (plugins, interceptors, apps, code, etc) to anything CodexWiki (plugins, interceptors, parsers, themes, etc).  Not only that, it leverages our latest ColdBox 3.0 features, built in exactly 3 days thanks to ColdBox and Transfer.  Please also remember that we have our own ColdBox Community development space that you can take advantage off.  We can host your projects if you need in git or svn and even have tons of collaboration tools.  Just send us an email at info@coldbox.org and we will create the account for you.  You can then start rocking with ColdBox!

ForgeBox also sports a cool REST API service and of course, in our documentation tradition, fully documented using our new wiki.  Again, we are slowly migrating our documentation to our new wiki, but we will get there soon.

So what can you do with ForgeBox? Well, first of all, register your account with us and start contributing your code.  You can then also get funky and start building interfaces, iphone apps, or whatever you like with our REST API.  At the moment, our API is very basic, but it will grow as usage increases and we add more features.

Also, please free to enter your feedback about ForgeBox and how it can be improved!  And no kidding, I built it in about 3 days, ColdBox to the max!!

Assembla migration complete

Community , News 3 Comments »
I am glad to inform that all of our ColdBox platform projects have been successfully migrated to Assembla.  We are now starting to use all of our cool new tools and organizational elements.  So head on over to our new tracking homes!

Our next step is that we are migrating all of our documentation to our new wiki home based on CodexWiki.  This will be a great chance for us to eat our own dog food :) and also to keep updating CodexWiki in a more timely fashion.

Also remember that we can now host your ColdBox related projects in our own ColdBox Community Development space.  So if you need git/svn hosting with a nice ticketing and collaboration system, let us know.

Enjoy!

There have been some reported issues with beta 3 for coldfusion 9 and object serialization when using the flash memory.  These have been resolved and are on SVN or the nightly build.  We have also solved several other pending issues on unix based system and addressed them not only on the core but on all the sample applications and on the coldbox dashboard.

Due to the amount of fixes and updates we have resolved, we will be releasing an updated beta 3 build this Friday.  So expect another mini-release this Friday to address these issues and also get some goodies.
